Help for Families

Family conflict doesn't have to define your relationships

Family conflicts can feel overwhelming because they involve the people closest to us.

When tensions arise, it's easy to feel like you're walking on eggshells or that the situation is beyond fixing.

Family conflicts don't have to continue indefinitely. With the right support, families can learn to navigate differences in healthy ways and strengthen their bonds.

We work with families who want to address their conflicts and create healthier ways of relating to each other.

Whether you're dealing with unspoken tension or a specific crisis, there are practical steps you can take to move forward together.

How We Work With Your Family

We offer two main approaches to help families manage conflict and rebuild their relationships:

Family Mediation

We support family members to come together to resolve a dispute in a safe, neutral environment.

This is a very structured process where everyone has a chance to be heard. We guide the discussion toward practical solutions that will work for everyone in the family.

Individual conflict coaching for family members

Sometimes people need individual support before they're ready for talk.

We also work on a one-to-one basis with family members to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to improve their family relationships.

Individuals can then decide if they need to go forward with a family mediation.

How it works

Whether we're working with family members on an individual basis or together in a mediation, we help everyone concerned to:

  • Understand what's really happening beneath the surface in arguments and identify the core issues that need addressing
  • Change communication patterns so that family members can express their needs and concerns without escalating conflict
  • Rebuild trust and connection by addressing past hurts and creating new ways of relating to each other
  • Develop sustainable solutions that work for your family's unique situation

Common family situations we help with

Families come to us for support with conflicts in the following areas:

  • Major life transitions: divorce, remarriage, blended families or caring for aging parents
  • Parent-child conflicts: navigating teenage challenges or estrangement
  • Sibling disputes: inheritance disputes or ongoing tensions
  • Extended family tensions: managing in-law relationships, grandparent boundaries or family gatherings
  • Communication breakdowns: when family members have stopped talking or conversations always end in arguments

What to Expect

Every family is unique.

We start by understanding your specific challenges and family dynamics.

We'll work with you to determine whether family mediation, individual conflict coaching or a combination of both would be most helpful for your situation.

The process is confidential and moves at a pace that feels comfortable for your family.

You'll gain practical skills and learn strategies that help not just with your current challenges but with future family situations as well.
